Accreditato del secondo tempo al termine delle prove ufficiali, Lata ha ottenuto la pole position nel successivo turno cronometrato, facendo segnare il miglior tempo di entrambe i gruppi, mentre Fredsoe, impegnato per la prima volta sul tracciato toscano non andava oltre la dodicesima piazza.

Al via di gara uno, dopo aver ottenuto il miglior tempo nel warmup della mattina, la tabella rossa entra in contatto con Nicholas Lapucci ed entrambi rischiano di finire a terra ma con prontezza di riflessi Valerio riesce a evitare il peggio, anche se i due si ritrovano in fondo al gruppo, mentre Mads alla prima curva è nella top 10. Con un ottimo primo giro Lata rimonta fino al sesto posto, passando anche Fredsoe, prima di commettere un piccolo errore che gli fa perdere una posizione. Con un ottimo ritmo il romano riesce a recuperare il gap dalla testa della gara, prendendo il comando a due giri dal termine, vincendo la quinta manche consecutiva, con il danese quinto sul traguardo dopo aver perso una posizione nell’ultimo giro. Al via di gara due la GASGAS MC 250F numero uno è seconda e prima che termini il primo giro il leader di campionato è già in testa, mentre Fredsoe, partito dal 23° cancello è nuovamente nella top ten. Latafa gara a se, passando primo sotto la bandiera a scacchi, centrando la terza doppietta consecutiva, mentre il suo compagno di squadra è sesto. Lata sale sul primo gradino del podio, mentre Fredsoe è quinto assoluto e quinto anche in campionato. Il team si sposta ora in Germania per la quinta prova del Campionato Europeo EMX250 che si terrà sul tracciato di Teutschenthal.

The third round out of six of the Italian Prestige Motocross Championship was held this weekend in Montervarchi, sees Valerio Lata and Mads Fredsoe, the two riders of the Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors team at the start in the MX2 class.

Lata, second at the end of official practice, took the pole position in the following timed session, setting the best time of both groups, while Fredsoe, competing for the first time on the Italian track, went twelfth.

At the start of race one, after having marked the best time in the morning warmup, the red plate comes into a risky contact with another rider but with quick reflexes Valerio manages to avoid the crash but starting at the back of the group, while Mads is in the top 10 at the first corner. With an excellent first lap Lata recovers to sixth place, also passing Fredsoe, before making a small mistake that causes him to lose a position. With an excellent pace the Italian manages to close the gap to the lead of the race, taking the lead with two laps to go, winning the fifth consecutive moto, with the Dane fifth at the finish line after losing a position on the last lap. At the start of race two the number one GASGAS MC 250F is second and before the first lap ends the championship leader is already in the lead, while Fredsoe, starting from the 23rd gate, is once again in the top ten. Lata make his own race, taking the checkered flag first, scoring his third consecutive one-one, while his teammate was sixth. Lata takes the first step of the podium, while Fredsoe is fifth overall and also fifth in the championship. The team now moves to Germany for the fifth round of the EMX250 European Championship which will be held on the Teutschenthal track.

Valerio Lata #53: “E’ stato un weekend perfetto, sono riuscito a fare la pole position al sabato, trovando subito un buon feeling nonostante il terreno duro e scivoloso. Domenica abbiamo iniziato la giornata con un ottimo tempo nel warmup, poi al via di gara uno, un contatto mi ha costretto a partire nelle retrovie. Sono riuscito a rimontare fino al sesto posto, poi mi si è spenta la moto in una curva e sono di nuovo retrocesso; poi con un buon ritmo sono riuscito a recuperare più di 19 secondi sul primo, passandolo nel corso del terzultimo giro. La seconda manche è andata meglio, sono riuscito a partire secondo, prendendo la testa nel corso del primo passaggio, andando a vincere. Abbiamo portato a casa la terza doppietta e ora ci concentriamo al massimo sull’europeo perché vogliamo tornare al top anche lì.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Terzo appuntamento del campionato italiano a Montevarchi. Nella prima gara sono partito intorno all’ottava posizione, ho fatto alcuni sorpassi e sono risalito al 4° posto ma un piccolo errore all’ultimo giro mi è costato una posizione, quindi ho concluso quinto. Nella seconda gara sono partito intorno all’ottava, nona posizione e sono riuscito a risalire fino al sesto posto. Quinto assoluto e sono anche quinto in campionato. Questo fine settimana ho faticato un po’ con il feeling su questa pista, ma nel complesso sono felice e ora andiamo in Germania per il 5° round dell’EMX250.”

Valerio Lata #53: “It was a perfect weekend, I managed to take pole position on Saturday, immediately finding a good feeling despite the hard and slippery surface. On Sunday we started the day with an excellent lap time in the warmup, then at the start of race one, a contact forced me to start from the back. I managed to recover to sixth place, then my bike stalled in a corner and I was dropped again; then with a good pace I managed to recover more than 19 seconds on the leader, passing him two pals to the end. The second heat went better, I managed to start second, taking the lead during the first lap, going on to win. We brought home the third double and now we are fully focussed on the European Championship because we want to get back to the top there too.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Third round of the Italian championship in Montevarchi. First race I had a start around 8th, I’ve made some passes and got up to 4th place but a small mistake last lap cost me a position, so I ended in P5. Second race I started around 8/9th and I’ve made my way up to p6. Overall P5 and I’m 5th in the championship. This weekend I struggled a little bit with the felling on this track but overall I’m happy and now we go to Germany for the 5th round of EMX250.”

Al via di gara uno Lata è terzo alla prima curva ma nel giro di due passaggi prende il comando, conducendo la gara fino al traguardo, mentre Fredsoe, scattato in quindicesima posizione, riesce a trovare un buon ritmo, rimontando fino alla quinta piazza. Gara due è un assolo del giovane romano che con la sua GASGAS MC250F scatta perfettamente dal cancello scelto e  ottiene l’hole-shot, gestendo con grande maturità il vantaggio ottenuto nei primi giri fino al traguardo, ottenendo la seconda doppietta consecutiva. Ottima anche la partenza del danese che riesce a curvare nella top five e a conquistare il terzo posto nel corso del quinto giro, mantenendolo fino al traguardo, ottenendo il primo podio in carriera in 250. Con la vittoria di Cingoli Lata si conferma in testa alla serie nazionale a punteggio pieno, mentre Fredsoe scala otto posizioni, risalendo al sesto posto della Elite.

Tra due settimane il team sarà impegnato nella trasferta portoghese per il terzo round del campionato Europeo di Motocross EMX250, sul tracciato di Agueda, in occasione del Gran Premio MXGP del Portogallo.

The second round of the Italian Prestige Motocross Championship was held this weekend on the Cingoli track. The riders of Team Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors, Valerio Lata and Mads Fredsoe, returning from the excellent performance of the EMX250 European Championship held a week ago in Trentino, started the weekend with the first and twelfth position in free practice. With the track made treacherous by heavy rain, cold temperatures and fog, Lata set the fastest time of his group, taking his second consecutive pole position, while Fredsoe moved up to tenth place, taking the twentieth gate for the two Sunday’s motos.

At the start of race one Lata was third at the first corner but within two laps he took the lead, leading the race to the checkered flag, while Fredsoe, who started in fifteenth position, managed to find a good rhythm, recovering to fifth place. Race two was a solo for aValerio who with his GASGAS MC 250F took off perfectly from the chosen gate and got the hole-shot, managing with great maturity the advantage obtained in the first laps up to the finish line, obtaining the second consecutive one-two. The Dane also had an excellent start as he managed to get into the top five and take third place during the fifth lap, maintaining it until the finish line, jumping on the first podium of his career on a 250. With Cingoli’s victory, Lata confirmed his lead in the series national team with full points, while Fredsoeclimbs eight positions, bouncing back to sixth place in the Elite class.

In two weeks the team will be traveling to Portugal for the third round of the EMX250 European Motocross Championship, on the Agueda track, on the occasion of the MXGP Portuguese Grand Prix.

Valerio Lata #53: “Per le gare ho scelto di montare la gomma da fango, ma nella seconda manche la pista si era asciugata e negli ultimi giri ho veramente rischiato di farmi riprendere, perché non avevo più grip, soprattutto nelle discese. Siamo a quattro vittorie di manche su quattro e due pole position su due, per adesso direi che sta andando tutto benissimo. Ringrazio il team e i nostri sponsor per quello che stanno facendo per me.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Questo fine settimana al campionato italiano di Cingoli è stato positivo per me. Nella prima gara non ho fatto una buona partenza ma ho fatto alcuni sorpassi abbastanza velocemente e alla fine ho concluso quinto. Nella seconda gara sono partito bene, tra i primi 5. Mi sentivo bene in pista e in questa manche ho potuto mostrare la mia velocità. Ho finito in terza posizione per un 3° assoluto, quindi sul podio! Mads had a good first heat, finishing 5th after starting 15th, while in the second heat he made an excellent start, moving into third around halfway through the race, finishing just 15 seconds behind his teammate. It was a super weekend, the crew worked very well and with the double podium it was difficult to do better. We are ready for the next race in Portugal.”

Valerio Lata #53: “For the races I chose to use the mud tyre, but in the second heat the track had dried out and in the final laps I really risked getting caught, because I no longer had grip, especially on the descents. We are at four heat wins out of four and two pole positions out of two, for now I would say that everything is going very well. I thank the team and our sponsors for what they are doing for me.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “This weekend at the Italian championship in Cingoli was good for me. First race I didn’t get the best start but made some passes pretty quickly and finished p5 in the end. Second race I get a good start in the top 5. I felt good on the track and could show my speed in that moto. Finished p3 for an overall p3, so on the podium! Once again big thanks to the team for all the help. Let’s keep going like this.”

Primo al termine delle prove ufficiali del sabato mattina, Valerio con la sua GASGAS MC 250F ha ottenuto il miglio tempo assoluto nelle prove cronometrate, ottenendo la pole position per le gare della domenica. Primo anche nel warmup della mattina, ha dominato entrambe le manche di gara, partendo secondo nella prima e cogliendo l’hole-shot nella seconda, facendo gara a se, gestendo nel finale di entrambe le frazioni, non essendo ancora tornato al 100% della forma fisica dopo l’infortunio al braccio, facendo registrare sempre il miglior tempo sul giro. Con i 500 punti conquistati a Mantova, Lata è in testa alla classifica di Campionato che disputerà il secondo round sul tracciato marchigiano di Cingoli il 20 e 21 aprile prossimi. Esordio nella serie tricolore per il danese Mads Fredsoeche ha ottenuto il 14° crono nelle prove ufficiali, migliorando di due posizioni nel successivo turno cronometrato. Nella prima manche della domenica Mads è scattato attorno alla ventesima posizione, rimontando con un buon ritmo fino alla decima. In gara due Fredsoe è rimasto coinvolto in una caduta al via, ripartendo ultimo ed è finito nuovamente a terra danneggiando la moto, senza poter terminare la sua gara.

Il team si sposta ora in Spagna per la gara di Campionato Europeo 250 sulla pista di Intu Xanadu, primo degli 11 appuntamenti con la EMX250.

The Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors Team rider Valerio Latawhich will make its debut in the 2024 EMX250 European Championship in a week in Madrid, picked up where he left off at the Internazionali d’Italia series, from the Mantova track where he managed to achieve the podium of the MX2, winning this time the 250 race of the Italian Championship.

First at the end of the official practice on Saturday morning, Valerioachieved the best time overall in the timed session, taking with his GASGAS MC 250F the pole position for the Sunday races. Also first in the morning warmup, he dominated both heats of the race, starting second in the first and taking the hole-shot in the second, having a race of his own, managing both heats at the end, having not yet returned to 100% physical shape since his injury, but recording the best lap time in both motos. With the 500 points scored in Mantova, Lata leads the standings. The second round of the series will take place on the Cingoli track on 20 and 21 April. Debut in the Italian series for the Dane Mads Fredsoe who achieved the 14th time in the official practice, improving by two positions in the following timed session. In the first heat on Sunday, Mads started around twentieth position, recovering with a good pace up to tenth. In race two Fredsoe was involved in a crash at the start, regrouping last and ended up on the ground again, damaging his bike, without being able to finish his race.

The team now moves up to Spain for the 250 European Championship race on the Intu Xanadu track, the first of 11 rounds of the EMX250.

Valerio Lata #53: “La prima prova del campionato italiano a Mantova è andata molto bene. Ho provato ad andare in moto mercoledì e non avendo nessun tipo di fastidio abbiamo deciso di correre. Sono riuscito a chiudere in prima posizione tutte le sessioni, dalle prove libere alla seconda manche e sono davvero molto contento. Ora ci prepariamo per la prima prova del campionato europeo, cercheremo di lavorare bene in settimana e di fare bene in Spagna. Ringrazio il team per il lavoro e il supporto.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Il primo round del campionato italiano a Mantova è andato abbastanza bene, ho concluso decimo nella prima manche dopo essere partito 20°. Nella seconda manche ho avuto una caduta in partenza e un’altra al secondo giro; dopo le cadute la moto era tutta piegata e non ho potuto fare nulla. Viviamo e impariamo. La velocità era buona in gara e so cosa posso fare, ma dobbiamo mettere insieme alcune cose.”

Valerio Lata #53: “The first round of the Italian championship in Mantua went very well. I tried to ride a motorbike on Wednesday and not having any kind of discomfort we decided to do the race. I managed to finish all the sessions in first position, from free practice to the second heat and I’m really very happy. Now we are preparing for the first round of the European championship, we will try to work well during the week and do well also in Spain. I thank the team for their work and support.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “The first round of the Italian championship in Mantova went quite good, I took a P10 in the first moto after starting 20. In the second moto I had a start crash and one more at the second lap. The bike was all bent after the crashes so couldn’t do anything. We live and we learn. Speed was good in the races and I know what I can do but we gotta put some things together.”
