Al via della prima frazione, disputata al sabato pomeriggio sotto la pioggia battente, Lata è scattato quarto, prendendo il ritmo dei primi, con Fredsoe autore di un’ottima partenza dal 26° cancello, in dodicesima posizione. Le condizioni estreme della pista, con la quale il romano non ha particolare feeling, lo hanno, passaggio dopo passaggio, retrocesso fino alla settima posizione, con il tempo ormai scaduto. Le ultime due tornate della manche, nonostante Valerio si trovasse senza maschera, sono state però fenomenali e gli hanno permesso di portare al traguardo la sua GASGAS MC 250F in terza posizione. A causa di una sosta per cambiare la maschera la gara di Fredsoe, decimo nei primi giri, è stata più complicata e dopo essere ripartito 16°, il danese ha chiuso in venticinquesima posizione a causa di alcune scivolate nel fango.

Al via di gara due si è ripetuto il copione della prima manche, con Lata 4° dopo lo start e Fredsoe 12°. Per Mads purtroppo la gara si è interrotta nel corso dell’ottavo giro, quando a causa di un problema tecnico sopraggiunto a causa di un sasso che ha danneggiato uno dei radiatori della sua moto. Questa volta il leader di campionato ha invece trovato un ritmo migliore sin dai primi giri che gli ha permesso, nel corso del settimo giro, di portarsi al 2° posto a oltre 5 secondi dal primo. L’ottima velocità su un tracciato particolarmente difficile, gli ha permesso di recuperare terreno, arrivando a pochi decimi dal suo avversario negli ultimi due giri ma senza riuscire a superarlo a causa dell’intenso traffico di piloti doppiati. Il secondo posto sotto la bandiera scacchi gli è valso il secondo gradino del podio.

Lata mantiene la tabella rossa, aumentando il vantaggio a 18 lunghezze sul diretto inseguitore. Il team si sposterà ora in Spagna dove questo fine settimana si terrà la sesta prova del Mondiale MX2 alla quale entrambe i piloti parteciperanno in qualità di wildcard.

The third round of the EMX250 was held this weekend on the Portuguese track of Agueda. The race weekend, affected by heavy rainfall, took place on the red clay track, made tricky by the mud. Valerio Lata, leader of the standings since the first round held in Spain and winner of the first two events, set the best lap time at the end of free practice, while Mads Fredsoe ended with the fifteenth fastest time. In the following timed practice the two riders of the Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors team achieved the 6th and 16th times but due to a penalty for not respecting a yellow flag, Fredsoe was downgraded to twenty-sixth position.

At the start of the first moto, held on Saturday afternoon in the pouring rain, Lata started fourth, picking up the pace of the leaders, with Fredsoe making an excellent start from the 26th gate, in twelfth position. The extreme conditions of the track, with which Valerio has no particular feeling, costed few places and he found himself in seventh, with two laps to the end. The last two laps of the heat were phenomenal and allowed Valerio, even without the googles, to bring his GASGAS MC 250F to the finish line in third position. Due to a stop to change his googles, Fredsoe, who started 12th, was more complicated and after restarting 16th from the pitlane, the Dane finished in twenty-fifth position due to some slips in the mud.

At the start of race two Lata was 4th and Fredsoe 12th. Unfortunately for Mads the race was interrupted during the eighth lap, when a technical issue due to a stone that damaged one of the radiators of his bike. This time the championship leader found a better pace from the first laps which allowed him, during the seventh lap, to move into 2nd place, over 5 seconds behind the leader. The excellent speed on a particularly difficult track allowed him to make up ground, ending within a few tenths of his rival in the last two laps but without being able to overtake him due to the intense traffic of lapped riders. Second place under the checkered flag earned him to the second step of the podium.

Lata maintains the red plate, increasing the advantage to 18 points. The team will now move to Spain where the sixth round of the MX2 World Championship will be held this weekend, with both riders in the entry list as wildcards.

Dario Beddini Team Owner: “E’ stato un weekend molto difficile per tutta la squadra a causa delle condizioni meteo estreme ma sono molto contento dei risultati ottenuti dai nostri ragazzi. Valerio è stato molto bravo nonostante la pista fosse particolarmente difficile, portando a casa un ottimo piazzamento con pochissimi errori, sfiorando la vittoria in seconda manche! Mads è partito bene nonostante un errore in qualifica che ha compromesso il suo posto al cancello; peccato anche per il guasto tecnico subito in seconda manche che lo ha costretto al ritiro dove quando occupava l’undicesima posizione. Un ringraziamento a tutti i nostri partner, ora ci spostiamo in Spagna dove faremo la prima nostra gara di mondiale di quest’anno, restando concentrati sull’obbiettivo principale che resta l’europeo.“

Joakin Furbetta Team Manager: “E’ stato un weekend davvero molto impegnativo per tutto il team. In Portogallo abbiamo trovato condizioni estreme ma la squadra è stata compatta e ha lavorato al meglio. I piloti hanno disputato una discreta qualifica con Valerio 6° e Mads 16°. In prima manche Valerio è partito intorno alla quarta posizione, è stata una gara molto dura, ha piovuto molto e le condizioni erano pesanti. A due giri dal termine si è levato la maschera ed è riuscito a recuperare dal settimo al terzo posto, mentre Mads ha fatto un’ottima partenza a ridosso della top 10, poi ha avuto un piccolo problema con la maschera che gli ha reso la gara difficile. In gara due Valerio è scattato sempre attorno alla quarta piazza, è risalito fino al secondo posto ed ha recuperato fino a raggiungere il primo, senza però riuscire a prendere il comando ma recuperando comunque ottimi punti. Mads è partito bene ma un sasso ha danneggiato un radiatore e lo abbiamo fermato per evitare la rottura della moto che avrebbe potuto metterlo in pericolo. E’ comunque stato un weekend positivo e adesso andiamo in Spagna per la prima wildcard del 2024 in MX2 dei nostri piloti.”

Valerio Lata #53: “Non sono molto soddisfatto perché dopo quattro vittorie consecutive ci hanno fermati; ci piace vincere e lavoreremo per tornare a farlo al più presto. La pista era molto difficile e su questa pista non mai avuto un buon ritmo e ho sempre faticato molto, però quest’anno è andata meglio, nel finale di manche sono sempre andato meglio ma c’erano poche linee buone e molti doppiati che mi hanno fatto perdere un po’ di tempo, però è stato un risultato importante per il campionato.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Ho iniziato il fine settimana con una penalità di 10 posizioni in qualifica, quindi da p16 a p26 al cancello. La prima gara all’inizio è andata bene, ero intorno alla dodicesima per i primi 10 minuti ma poi ho dovuto cambiare gli occhiali e ho fatto alcune cadute verso la fine che mi sono costate molto tempo. Nella seconda gara sono arrivato fino all’11° posto e sono rimasto lì fino a 8 minuti prima del termine ma ho dovuto ritirarmi a causa di problemi alla moto. Questo non era il mio fine settimana. Continuiamo a lavorare e il prossimo fine settimana correrò la mia prima gara di campionato mondiale a Lugo, in Spagna. Non vedo l’ora di farlo.”

Dario Beddini Team Owner: “It was a very difficult weekend for the whole team due to the extreme weather conditions but I am very happy with the results our boys had. Valerio was very good despite the very difficult track, bringing home an excellent second place with very few errors and in the second heat he almost took the victory! Mads started well despite a mistake in qualifying which compromised his place at the gate. It’s also a shame for the technical problem in the second heat which forced him to retire when he was in eleventh place. Thanks to all our partners, we are now moving to Spain where we will have our first world championship race of this year. We will stay focused on the main objective which remains the European championship.”

Joakin Furbetta Team Manager: “It was a really tough weekend for the whole team. In Portugal we found extreme conditions but the team was united and worked at its best. The riders had a good qualifying with Valerio 6th and Mads 16th. In the first heat Valerio started around fourth position, it rained a lot and the conditions were heavy. With two laps to go he took off his googles and managed to recover from seventh to third place, while Mads made an excellent start close to the top 10, then had a small problem with his googles which made his race tough. In moto two Valerio started again in fourth place, climbed up to second and recovered until reaching the first, without however managing to take the lead but still recovering good points. Mads started well but a stone damaged a radiator and we stopped him to avoid breaking the bike which could have put him in danger. However, it was a positive weekend and now we’re going to Spain for our riders’ first MX2 wildcard of 2024.”

Valerio Lata #53: “I’m not very satisfied because after four consecutive victories they stopped us; we like to win and we will work to get back to doing so as soon as possible. The track was very difficult and on this track I never had a good pace and I always struggled a lot, but this year it went better. At the end of the moto I always rode better but there were few good lines and many lapped riders which made me wasted some time, but it was an important result for the championship.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “I started the weekend out with a 10 position penalty in the qualifying so from p16 to p26 to the gate. First race was okay in the beginning, I was riding around p12 for the first 10 minutes but then I had to change googles and I had some crashes towards the end that cost me a lot of time. Second race I rode my way up to p11 and I was there till 8 minutes to go where I had to pull out of the race because of bike issues. This was not my weekend. We keep working and next weekend I will ride my first word championship race in Lugo, Spain. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Valerio Lata, primo nel suo gruppo al termine delle prove cronometrate, con un secondo e mezzo di vantaggio sul secondo, ha chiuso il turno cronometrato con quasi due secondi  di gap dal secondo. Decima posizione per Mads Fredsoe nel primo turno che ha poi fatto segnare il settimo tempo del suo gruppo nelle cronometrate. Sabato, al via di gara uno, Valerio ha sfiorato l’hole-shot, curvando secondo e dopo qualche curva ha portato l’attacco deciso che gli ha fatto prendere il comando della manche. Mads, partito 12°, ha rimontato tre posizioni, concludendo al nono posto. Domenica mattina la partenza di Lata è stata meno efficace ma nel giro di poche curve il pilota delle Fiamme Oro ha conquistato la seconda posizione e dopo alcuni giri di studio dell’avversario si è portando in testa, gestendo fino al traguardo il vantaggio acquisito. Per Mads la seconda frazione è stata complicata da una caduta di gruppo nella quale è stato coinvolto al via; il danese non si è comunque perso d’animo e con un’ottima progressione ha raggiunto il 14° posto che gli ha permesso di concludere al 10° posto assoluto il fine settimana del Trentino. La seconda vittoria in campionato accresce il vantaggio in classifica del pilota del team Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors che ora è di 16 punti sul diretto inseguitore, mentre Fredsoe risale al 15° posto.

Prossima gara tra una settimana sulla pista marchigiana di Cingoli per il secondo round del Campionato Italiano Prestige MX2.

The second round of the EMX250 European Championship was held this weekend on the Pietramurata track, in Italy. The circuit located a few kilometers from Lake Garda was the perfect setting for a memorable racing weekend held in summer temperatures in front of a large audience.

Valerio Lata, first in his group at the end of the timed practice, with a second and a half ahead of the second, ended the timed session with an almost two second gap from the second. Tenth position for Mads Fredsoe in the first practice who then set the seventh time of his group in the timed session. On Saturday, at the start of race one, Valerio came close to the hole-shot, turning second and after a few corners he launched a decisive attack that allowed him to take the lead of the heat. Mads, who started 12th, recovered three positions, finishing in ninth place. On Sunday morning Lata’s start was less effective but within a few corners the Fiamme Oro rider took second position and after a few laps of studying his opponent he took the lead, managing the advantage he gained until the finish line. For Mads the second moto was complicated by a group crash in which he was involved at the start; However, the Dane did not lose heart and with an excellent progression he reached 14th place which allowed him to finish the weekend in Trentino in 10th place overall. The second victory in the championship increases the advantage in the standings of the Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors team rider who is now 16 points over his direct pursuer, while Fredsoe moves up to 15th place.

Next race in a week on the Cingoli track for the second round of the Italian Prestige MX2 Championship.

Domenica Mads è stato coinvolto in una caduta al via, rimontando dall’ultima posizione al 14° posto, con una manche solida, ottenendo un 10° posto assoluto. Valerio è scattato molto bene, curvando 4° ma in sei giri ha preso il comando si nuovo, amministrando fino alla fine della gara il vantaggio. Ora lavoreremo in vista della seconda prova del campionato italiano Prestige di Cingoli.”

Valerio Lata #53: “Che weekend perfetto! Più veloce di tutti in qualifica, e due vittorie di manche! È stato tutto divertente e memorabile, non sto nella pelle al pensiero di quel che abbiamo fatto in questi due giorni e averlo fatto qui, in Italia, davanti ai miei tifosi, è incredibile. Ringrazio il mio team, abbiamo lavorato tutti duramente per questo risultato, che ci ripaga. Ora vogliamo portare questa velocità anche ad Agueda!”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Ho fatto dei buoni passi avanti. In Gara1 sono partito bene e ho impostato un buon ritmo chiudendo nono; in Gara2 sono rimasto coinvolto nell’incidente in partenza, ma ho rimontato fino a quattordicesimo. La decima posizione complessiva non è male, e voglio mantenere questo slancio per il resto del campionato. Un grazie al mio team per i loro sforzi.”

Quarto al termine delle prove libere, Lata ha centrato il miglior tempo nella successiva sessione cronometrata, mentre Fredsoe, 25° nelle libere, chiudeva le seconde prove al 30° posto. Al via di gara uno il romano curva sesto e con un ottimo ritmo rimonta fino al primo posto, facendo segnare il miglior giro, tagliando il traguardo per primo. Ottima la rimonta di Mads, caduto nel corso del primo giro e ripartito ultimo, che risale fino alla sedicesima posizione finale. Nella seconda frazione, disputata domenica mattina presto, Valerio ha bisogno di qualche giro per trovare il feeling migliore con il fondo, reso scivoloso dal fango e nel tentativo di recuperare posizioni dopo essere partito sesto, incappa in una scivolata che lo relega in decima piazza. In breve il ritmo del romano migliora e da metà gara, con la sua GASGAS MC 250F, il pilota del team Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors è il più veloce in pista, recuperando quasi 30 secondi sul gruppo di testa, ritrovandosi quarto a due giri dalla fine. Con un rush finale, Lata riesce nell’ultimo passaggio a conquistare la seconda posizione, aggiudicandosi il primo gradino del podio e la tabella rossa della serie. Gara più difficile per il danese, scattato meglio che in prima gara ma in difficoltà nel superare gli avversari, che non riesce a trovare un buon ritmo, chiudendo 21°. Il prossimo appuntamento con la EMX250, il 13 e 14 aprile, sulla pista del Ciclamino di Pietramurata (TN).

The first round of the 2024 EMX250 was held this weekend at the Intu Xanadù track, 30 kilometers from the Spanish capital Madrid. Valerio Lata, fresh from a double in the Italian Prestige MX2 Championship, had one of the best race weekends of his career, while Mads Fredsoe made his successful debut in the European series aboard a four-stroke, taking experience and the first points in the series.

Fourth at the end of free practice, Lata set the best time in the timed session, while Fredsoe, 25th in free practice, ended the second practice 30th. At the start of race one the Valerio is sixth and with an excellent pace recovers to first place, setting the best lap of the race, crossing the finish line first. An excellent comeback for Mads, who crashed on the first lap and restarted last, climbing up to sixteenth final position. In the second moto, held early on Sunday morning, Valerio needed a few laps to find the best feeling with the surface made slippery by the mud and while he was recovering after starting in sixth, he crashed and restarted tenth. From then on, Lata’s pace improved and with his GASGAS MC 250F, the Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors team rider was the fastest on the track, recovering almost 30 seconds on the leading group, climbing in fourth with two laps to go. With a final rush, Valerio manages to conquer the second position and taking the first step of the podium and the red plate of the series. More difficult race for Fredsoe, who started better than in the first moto but struggled overtaking his rivals, and was unable to find a good pace, finishing 21st. The next round of the EMX250, will be held on 13 and 14 April, in Trentino (ITA).

Valerio Lata #53: “La prima gara del Campionato Europeo è andata molto bene, al sabato sono riuscito a conquistare la pole position; in gara uno sono riuscito a fare una buona partenza, ho trovato un buon ritmo e ho rimontato da sesto a primo, prendendo un po’ di margine, vincendo la manche. Domenica mattina siamo scesi in pista per primi e c’era molto fango; sono riuscito a partire nuovamente bene ed ero quinto quando sono scivolato, ritrovandomi decimo. Sono riuscito a fare una bella rimonta fino al quarto posto, dopo aver recuperato quasi 30 secondi, poi nell’ultimo settore dell’ultimo giro ho passato due piloti, terminando secondo, vincendo l’assoluta. Sono molto contento di aver conquistato la tabella rossa e ringrazio tutto il team per il grande lavoro, ora dobbiamo impegnarci per continuare a dare il meglio e mantenere il primato.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Debutto nell’EMX250 in Spagna, ho finito 16 e 21 nelle manche. Nella prima manche ho avuto un incidente in partenza e ho fatto una buona rimonta dal 40° al 16° posto. Nella seconda gara ho avuto qualche difficoltà e non è stata la mia gara. Questo non è stato il mio fine settimana migliore, so di avere molto di più in me. Un grande ringraziamento al team Beddini GASGAS Factory Juniors.”

Sunday morning we were the first on track and it was muddy and slippery. Once again I took a good start and I was fifth while I had a small crash and I restarted tenth. I made a good come back in fourth, recovering 30 seconds and in the last sector of the last lap I was able to pass two riders, finishing second, taking the overall and the red plate. I’m really happy and I want to thank the team for their fantastic job, now we have to focus and give our best to keep the lead in both, Italian and European Championships.”

Mads Fredsoe #51: “Debut in EMX250 in Spain, I finished 16 and 21 in the motos. In the first moto I had a start crash and rode a good comeback race from 40th to 16th.
